Central to Connected Kanban are smart cards and readers. Smart cards are used as your Kanban task cards and your Kanban board is made smarter with readers for each of your lane.
Smart (RFID) cards are used as your Kanban task cards, using them like you do now. Writing the task synopis on the card with a marker pen, plus one small step, linking this physicalcard to your digital ticket, this is done with a simple tap.
Your Kanban board is made smarter by placing a number of reader modules on it. These connect to your WiFi and to our cloud platform, with a reader ideally placed on each lane of your Kanban board. Allowing events to be generated every time a card is moved.
When ever a team member moves their task on the Kanban board, they simply pick up the card, tap it on the lane it is being moved to and place it back on the board. This one simple action then updates all your digital systems, keeping everyone happy.
To bridge your physical Kanban board into the digital realm, it needs to be kitted out with some of our hardware.
Each lane on your Kanban board is augmented with a Connected Kanban reader. This allows Connected Kanban to recieve events when a card is moved into the corresponding lane.
But don't worry your board does not need to look ugly, we provide a sleek enclosure to cover all those wires and devices. You'll just need a power point with in reach of your board. Our devices run off a standard USB supply.
Once you've decked your Kanban board out with Connected Kanban, you'll need to register your devices with the Connected Kanban cloud. This requires that you join them to your WiFi network (currently 802.1X is not supported) and then bind them to your Connected Kanban account.
Configuration is done via a simple web interface on the reader. Once one reader has been configured configuration can be saved to a smart card and applied to all other readers with a simple tap.
Connected Kanban supports integration with a variety of digital task tracking systems.
Whether you use our hardware or not, Connected Kanban can help integrate different systems together. Keeping them upto date and providing detailed statistics and information about your team.
